Position Highlights

The Supplier Analytics Operations team is seeking a Supplier Research Advisor to support research and analytics that enables and drives strategic and operational decision making, predominantly in the area of supplier program and category development, maintenance and improvement. Core activities will include the planning, design and conduct of research to understand trends and opportunities within the supplier environment relevant to ICBC’s major spend categories.

As ICBC pushes forward with its 2025 Strategy, you can expect to be a key player in providing subject matter expertize and research support to key stakeholders in Strategic Sourcing, Claims Strategy and the broader ICBC business as required.

Responsibilities :

Working with the business and delivery team members, the primary responsibilities of the Supplier Research Advisor are to research supplier markets, evaluate and review supplier program structures, understand relevant rate setting methodologies and benchmark rates against market conditions and/or comparable peer organizations.

Key accountabilities include :

• Supports the delivery of comprehensive and defensible research leveraging appropriate secondary and primary sources to understand the relevant supplier markets, emerging trends, program structures and rate setting practice.

• Promotes/employs the use of methods, strategies and techniques that lead to effective supplier practices and rate structures.

• Uses data and analytics to generate supplier insights, effectively support corporate priorities and integrate/apply insights to ICBC’s circumstances.

• Supports multi-functional teams in negotiations with suppliers on complex business and information technology acquisitions and other large, high value supplier expenditures.

• Assists with the development of sourcing strategies with the strategic sourcing and supply management team by providing valuable industry insights and related data.

• Performs detailed reviews of specific supplier groups that involve researching market trends, conducting profitability analyses, and developing options and recommendations based on findings.

• Communicates and plans proactively with internal partners to ensure that supplier information requirements are met and insights are leveraged across the company to optimize potential benefits.

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders

Position Requirements

Strong knowledge and experience with data analysis and analytics, modeling and the ability to convert raw data into actionable business insights is required (> 3 years).

• Strong communication and presentation skills, experience delivering analysis and recommendations of a complex nature to senior management (>3 years).

• Strong research and information gathering skills, ability to conduct strategic research and apply findings (>3 years).

• Knowledge of the theory, principles, concepts and best practices of vendor sourcing, organization change, business transformation and change management.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite with the ability to analyze data in Excel.

• Ability to interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of management.

• Organizational skills in order to juggle multiple tasks, deliverables and deadlines is required
