The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA - Sr) on the Information Management, Data Services Team will be the Product Owner supporting the Claims Predictive Analytics Portfolio (CPAP) with their business requirements analysis, translation of business goals into achievable technical tasks, effort estimations, Agile practice as well as data analysis. He/She will ensure that the CPAP cross-functional team meets business objectives by working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, define project requirements, monitor project progress, perform data analysis and validate solutions.
The successful candidate will be analyzing the current systems, processes and operations to identify requirements. The ideal candidate should have intermediate to advanced SQL querying knowledge, experience with Agile methodology, excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Claims business knowledge, familiarity with Guidewire Claim Center are definite assets.
Accountabilities will include:
# Product Owner of the Claims Predictive Analytics Portfolio.
# Monitoring project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
# Communicating and gathering business requirements from business stakeholders and liaising with the Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Visualization analysts.
# Communicating & presenting solutions to business stakeholders
# Prioritizing project tasks, report development tasks and Ad hoc data requests
# Leading delivery of Data Services & CPAP projects
# Providing operational support and ad hoc data analysis, reviewing and clarifying data requirements, communicating these requirements to Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Report Developers
# Leading and supporting corporate governance and privacy protocols on data and reports
# Providing subject matter expertise on Claims Predictive Analytics Portfolio, data requirements, reporting workflows, business processes and appropriate tools to analyze data
# Developing optimized advanced SQL queries to help improve runtime performance of machine learning models
# Participating in Risk Assessment meetings on evaluating project risks
# overseeing data validation and test plans, performing user acceptance testing, and providing feedback to development and sustainment teams.

# Ability to apply critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on technical problems

# Understand business/customer impacts for incidents and business use of applications
# Ability to work effectively with a team or independently, as well as lead teams as needed
# Ability to effectively plan and prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
# Experience and good understanding of Agile Methodologies including experience using JIRA
# Demonstrated ability to analyze large and complex datasets and present them in easy to understand format to business users
# Proven proficiency in Advanced SQL and relational databases like IBM DB2 and Oracle;
# Experience with Data Quality, Big Data and JIRA would be an asset
# Ability to apply critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on technical problems and solution design;
# Knowledge of Claims Operations business domain is a plus
